Takuka 2026 Conference | Africa Decides: Sovereignty, Innovation and the Future of Dispute Resolution

What does the future of arbitration in Africa look like in a rapidly evolving legal landscape ?

These key questions will be at the heart of the Takuka 2026 Conference – “Africa Decides: Sovereignty, Innovation and the Future of Dispute Resolution”, taking place from 5 to 9 October 2026 in Diani, Kenya.

Organised by the African Arbitration Association and the Ciarb Kenya Branch, the conference will bring together arbitration practitioners and experts to explore the evolving landscape of dispute resolution across the African continent.

We are pleased to announce that Salma El-Nashar, Partner at LPA Law’s Dubai office, will contribute to these discussions on Tuesday, 6 October, from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m., with a session entitled:
“Third-Party Funding in African Arbitration: Access, Ethics, and the Regulation Gap”Specialised in international arbitration and commercial disputes, Salma advises clients on complex contentious matters across multiple jurisdictions and industry sectors in the Middle East and Africa. She regularly acts as counsel and arbitrator in both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations, including proceedings under the ICC, DIAC, LCIA, CCJA and CRCICA rules.

Her contribution will bring a valuable perspective to the discussion on the role of third-party funding in African arbitration, its potential to facilitate access to justice, and the regulatory and ethical questions it raises.
