Thieu Mai

Thieu Mai is a Dispute Resolution Associate at the Ho Chi Minh City office

Thieu has experience advising clients on arbitration, dispute resolution, employment, foreign direct investment and corporate matters, with a particular focus on maritime and commercial disputes. He has experience in both domestic and cross-border matters, including proceedings before SIAC and VIAC.

He has assisted in disputes involving maritime claims, unpaid cargoes, charterparty termination, force majeure, damages and non-conforming goods. His experience includes drafting submissions and legal advice, conducting legal research, preparing case strategies, and supporting clients throughout arbitration and dispute resolution proceedings.

Thieu also works for multinational and Vietnam-based companies on foreign investment, employment restructuring, corporate transactions, data protection and cross-border data transfers. He has also assisted with legal due diligence and regulatory compliance matters.

Before joining APFL Partners, Thieu was a Junior Associate at a Vietnamese law firm.

Thieu holds a Bachelor of Business Law (LL.B.) from the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. He completed the Lawyer Training Course in 2026 and holds a Certificate in Legal English from the Institute of International & Comparative Law.
