Past event | Recap of our French expatriates taxation conference in Hong Kong

On 25 March, LPA Law’s Hong Kong office, in partnership with UFE Hong Kong & Macao, hosted a conference focused on the tax and wealth management issues facing French nationals living in Hong Kong.

Led by Nicolas Vanderchmitt (partner and head of the Hong Kong office) and Marie-Gabrielle du Bourblanc (counsel specializing in international tax), the session provided a structured overview of the wealth journey of French nationals relocating to Hong Kong — from tax residency considerations and non-resident investment strategies to succession planning issues within a common law environment and in the context of a potential return to France.

In a friendly and interactive setting, around forty participants had the opportunity to discuss real-life scenarios and leave with practical guidance to anticipate their decisions. The discussions highlighted both the complexity and the opportunities inherent in cross-border situations.
