Japan seminar | Yoshiki Tsurumaki to discuss internal audit priorities following a ransomware incident
LPA Tokyo is pleased to announce that Yoshiki Tsurumaki, Partner and Head of Japanese Law Practice, will speak at a seminar entitled “What should internal audit examine following a ransomware incident? – The impact of cyber incidents on J-SOX, internal controls and directors’ responsibilities”, hosted by the Business Research Institute on 5 October 2026 in Tokyo.
Major cyber incidents such as ransomware attacks are no longer merely an IT issue. They can have direct implications for J-SOX, internal controls, internal audit and directors’ duties, making cybersecurity an increasingly important corporate governance issue.
Drawing on actual cyber incidents and disclosure cases, the seminar will examine from a practical legal and governance perspective what internal audit functions should review following a major cyber incident and what issues should be escalated to management and the board.
