APFL Partners strengthens its Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice with the arrival of Minh Nguyen as Partner

APFL Partners, a member of LPA Law, is pleased to announce the arrival of Minh Nguyen as Partner and Head of its Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice in Ho Chi Minh City. She is joined by two associates, Anh Nguyen and Thieu Mai, further strengthening the firm’s contentious capabilities with an experienced and well-established team.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in the firm’s continued development in Vietnam and reinforces APFL Partners’ longstanding reputation as a leading firm for dispute resolution and arbitration. A historic pillar of the firm, the practice has consistently been recognised by the world’s leading legal directories for its excellence. Minh’s appointment reflects APFL Partners’ ambition to build on this legacy while responding to the growing demand for sophisticated dispute resolution services from both domestic and international clients.

With more than 15 years of experience, Minh is widely recognised for her expertise in commercial litigation, international arbitration and employment disputes. She advises and represents multinational corporations and domestic clients in complex, high-value disputes before leading arbitral institutions, including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC). She also regularly advises clients on executive employment disputes and strategic risk management across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, consumer goods and other regulated sectors.

Before joining APFL Partners, Minh was Special Counsel and Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice at one of Vietnam’s leading law firms specialising in arbitration and dispute resolution. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade with leading international law firms and multinational corporations, including Gide Loyrette Nouel and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

As a Fulbright Scholar, Minh holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration from Pepperdine University and attended the intensive International Commercial Arbitration course at Harvard Law School in 2023. She is a member of the Young Singapore International Arbitration Centre Committee (YSIAC), a member of the Science Council of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), and serves as Vietnam Representative of the Asia-Pacific Forum for International Arbitration (AFIA). Since 2019, she has also been an Adjunct Lecturer in the Master of Civil Law programme jointly organised by the University of Economics and Law of Vietnam and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Individually ranked in the Chambers Asia-Pacific Guide 2026 for Dispute Resolution, Minh brings outstanding technical expertise, extensive experience in cross-border matters and a strong reputation within both the Vietnamese and international arbitration communities.

As Head of the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice, Minh will lead the continued development of the firm’s contentious capabilities in Vietnam while working closely with LPA Law’s teams across Asia and Europe to support clients in complex cross-border disputes, international arbitration and strategic risk management.

Minh Nguyen commented: “I am thrilled to join APFL Partners as its first Vietnamese Partner and to lead the firm’s arbitration and dispute resolution team. APFL Partners has built a well-established dispute resolution practice that is widely recognized by leading legal directories, including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. With the firm’s strong reputation among the Francophone communities, together with its affiliated offices in key Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo, I am confident that this integration will further elevate APFL Partners’ market standing and boost the level of service we provide to our clients.”

Arnaud Bourrut-Lacouture, Managing Partner of APFL Partners, added: “Minh’s arrival is a landmark moment for APFL Partners. She joins us to lead one of the firm’s historic flagship practices, which has long been recognised by the leading international legal directories. Her appointment is also a significant milestone for the firm, as Minh is the first external partner to join APFL Partners. Together with her team, she will further strengthen our dispute resolution and arbitration capabilities while supporting our long-term growth strategy, the continued diversification of our offering and our commitment to investing in outstanding Vietnamese legal talent.”

The arrival of Minh and her team further strengthens APFL Partners’ position as one of Vietnam’s leading independent business law firms and significantly enhances its ability to advise clients on complex domestic and cross-border disputes, international arbitration and strategic risk management.

We are pleased to welcome her aboard!
