White paper | The tokenization of assets

In recent years, technological developments have led to the creation of new goods and services that have induced new economic realities. Among them are the blockchain and crypto-assets. They are part of the “asset tokenisation” phenomenon, i.e. representing physical assets on the blockchain, which is a new form of dematerialization.

However, the products and services in this environment have been designed without reference to existing legal frameworks and it might even be said in opposition to these frameworks. Ultimately, they require a legal framework to enable operators to operate in a secure environment. FTX’s bankruptcy is a perfect example of this.

Several lawyers of the firm representing different practice areas and legal fields have decided to clarify what exactly is tokenization (part I) and its legal ramifications as they appear today (part II) so as to introduce a few case studies (part III).
