LPA-CGR avocats is pleased to announce the appointment of two new counsels, Marie-Gabrielle du Bourblanc and Ahlam Guessoum, with effect from 1 January 2023. The firm is thus strengthening its position on the France-Hong Kong axis where it has been established since 1998 and, in response to the energy crisis, on one of its key sectors.

 

Marie-Gabrielle du Bourblanc has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2014 and Solicitor of the Senior Courts in England since 2018. She joined our Hong Kong office, headed by Nicolas Vanderchmitt, in 2011 as trainee and then as Associate.

Marie-Gabrielle advises on international and corporate/M&A tax matters. She advises European and French clients with activities in Hong Kong at all stages of their development (setting-up, negotiations of regional joint-venture / shareholders’ agreements, sale, restructuring of activities, etc.). .). Marie-Gabrielle also advises executives and employees (local or expatriate) on issues related to their mobility (departure to Asia, return to France) and the structuring of their packages.

Based in the Paris office since September 2022, after spending 11 years in Hong Kong, Marie-Gabrielle aims to develop synergies between the Paris and Hong Kong offices.

Marie-Gabrielle is a graduate of the Magistère Juristes d’Affaires- DJCE of the University of Paris II- Panthéon-Assas (2010). She also holds a Certificate of Specialized Studies in Tax Law from the Fédération Nationale pour le Droit de l’Entreprise (Vice Major France – Class of 2010) and a Certificate of Legal Studies (LLB level) from University College London (2011).

This appointment brings the number of Counsels of the firm to 19.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2017, Ahlam Guessoum advises on complex contract and real estate law, in the renewable energy sector (wind, hydroelectric, photovoltaic, charging stations and hydrogen) and in infrastructure matters, more broadly.

Alongside Philippe Jacques, she has developed leading-edge expertise in structuring contractual arrangements, audits, drafting and negotiating contracts, particularly in the fields of energy recovery (aggregation, CPPA, self-consumption, etc.), land management (promises, surface leases, easements, volumetry, etc.), construction (development of new buildings, etc.) and energy efficiency. ), construction (project development, supply of complex equipment, EPC contracts, on a FIDIC basis, or assembly by lots, in a temporary grouping, subcontracting), greenfield or repowering units, and infrastructure operation (maintenance, asset management, etc.).

Ahlam aims to provide energy customers with a single, integrated legal solution, combining local production and distribution of energy on the same site (with or without storage), as well as “private” connection systems and, finally, a practice specific to energy storage, as these themes constitute the major axis of the evolution of energy production, consumption and transport.

She holds a PhD in Private Law, Section 01 – Doctoral School SISEO (Sciences and Engineering of Environmental and Organisational Systems) (2014) – University of Savoie Mont-Blanc, a Master 2 (Research) in Law of Obligations – Contracts and Liability (2008) and a Master 1 in Private Law, option Contract Law (2007) – Faculty of Law and Economics – University of Savoie Mont-Blanc.
